Course Tip – Hole #1 Since the beginning of this season, the 1st is currently playing as the fifth hardest hole on the golf course, with a bogey or worse being made 81% of the time in competition. Here’s my tip to try and help improve your scoring on hole #1: Warm up! – Many players skip their warm up and choose to go straight to the tee cold. This contributes to two things; having no idea where the ball is going to go from the tee, which usually leads to trouble, and also a slower clubhead speed, meaning you’re leaving yourself an extra club or two on your approach. Arrive five minutes earlier than planned this week and have a few swings in the net to loosen up. |
